Through the window

Hello bloggists, welcome to my blog.

I do so enjoy making cards that have a little something extra and I've been wanting to make one of these for a while.

What's the something extra?  Check the tutorial -

I do hope you enjoyed it.  PS- did you notice the sneaky peek from the new catalogue (going live tomorrow?)  Not long to wait now!  If you've shopped with me this year then a copy of the catalogue is on its way to you with my compliments- I know you're going to find lots of things to love in it!

If you'd like to join me for a live launch event tomorrow at 7 pm (BST) I'd love to see you!

White on White

Hello bloggists, welcome to my blog!

Well I hope that this is going to be the last of the blog posts in which I mention my recent bout of flu. By  the next time I post, I hope I will be completely back to normal.  Especially as the new catalogue launch is on June 1 - which is next week! I'm hoping to have a catalogue launch live stream at 7 PM on Wednesday–Watch this space!

Meanwhile, it's another short and simple project today.

Don't you think that white and silver are so elegant together?

Here's the tutorial–
See you soon!

Good day, Sunshine

Hello bloggists and welcome to my blog.

I'm still feeling the effects of the flu. It was really nasty while it lasted. So today's card is a quick and easy one, as I really didn't have any strength to do something complicated.  And I felt like making something bright and sunny to cheer myself up.

I have used the Sunburst die to make this card.  I love the art deco look of this one and I think that these soft colours are quite retro- as if faded by time.

It was very quick and easy to make. Here's the tutorial–

I hope you enjoyed it. See you again soon!

Go fly a kite!

Hello bloggists and welcome to my blog.

I’ve been suffering from flu (blatant play for sympathy) and I am only just now getting over it so I hope you’ll forgive me if I keep this post short and sweet today!

Today’s project is a Kite card, which I’ve made using Melon Mambo and Tempting Turquoise DS papers - not my usual choice of colours.  In fact, I don't think I've ever used Melon Mambo before.

This was a really fun card to make. (I have to admit though, it was a little bit tricky to get the Melon Mambo panel to fit properly onto the front of the card.)

Here is the tutorial-fortunately recorded before the dreaded plague struck!

See you again soon,

I've stuck pretty close to the sketch and as you've probably guessed, I'm still using up my retiring supplies.

I'm not going to waffle on because I know that you'll be keen to visit Angelina at the

Old Roses

Hi bloggists, and welcome!

Today's project takes me back to my crafty roots.  I love vintage/distress and I wanted to do something with the Typeset papers before they retired.

Here's how it went together -

Show me the way to go home!

Hello Bloggists, and welcome!

Well, I survived my first live-streamed virtual workshop.  I was SOOOO nervous all day before it - I felt as if I were about to have an interview for a new job.  I was afraid that nobody would turn up, or that they wouldn't like the projects or join in the chat....in the end, it all went OK apart from when I got over-excited and knocked the tripod over.  I couldn't even blame the cat, she was nowhere near at the time.  If you joined me for the event, thank you so much, I really, really appreciated your support.

Anyway, I will be scheduling the next one in time for the catalogue launch at the start of June.  Are you excited yet?  There's some gorgeous stuff coming up!

However, we still have a couple of weeks left to play with the current catalogues and this is what I've been making -
I've been making paracord bracelets which fit nicely into this little box.   Of course there's a tutorial -
Hope you enjoy.

See you soon,

My first Virtual Workshop!

Hello Bloggists and welcome!

Today's post is a bit different from usual. Normally I tell you all about what I've been making and link to a tutorial.  However, today I am trying something new and I do hope that you'll like it.

You might have spotted that I attended OnStage Live,  the Stampin' Up!  Demonstrators' conference last month.  We were challenged to schedule an extra event per month for the next six months and one of the suggestions was to hold Virtual Workshops.

Now, I would love to hold real-live workshops but as I have a demanding day job it's not easy for me to do that, so I've decided to give it a try.

I'm going to be featuring the Grateful Bunch stamp set and the Blossom Bunch Punch.  You can find a full list of supplies at the bottom of this post.  Here are a couple of the projects I'll be making -

If you're around this evening (Saturday 14 May at 7 pm BST) I'd really love for you to join me.  I am VERY nervous by the way!

The workshop will be recorded and will be on my YouTube channel after the event.  I'll be keeping the link for door prizes  and the Host code open until the end of May so if you miss the live but still want to join in, you can!

Hope you'll join me!

Keren

Zig zag card

Hello bloggists, and welcome!

I'm still using up my retiring stock and these papers - from the Birthday Bouquet DSP - are soooo pretty in the ice-cream colours;  I'm going to miss them.  However, the Suite Sayings stamps are carrying over to the new catalogue and I'm  happy about that, it's such a useful set and co-ordinates with some of our other sets.

It's been  while since I made one of these zigzag cards.   They are really easy to make and look as if they'd be complicated - love that!

Before I link to the tutorial, I want to tell you about my first ever venture into a live-stream virtual SU workshop.  I am really, really nervous about it and I'd love it if you'd drop in on Saturday next (14 May) at 7.00 p.m., BST.

Here's the tutorial for the zigzag card -
Thanks for visiting - see you soon?

Origami Gift Pouch

Hello Bloggists, thank you for visiting my blog.
One of the great things about being a Stampin'Up! Demonstrator is the opportunity to get together with other demos and to learn from each other.  We do love to share what we do and the On Stage conferences are a chance to meet and swap ideas.

At the event in April, one of the people is swapped with was my team-mate Heidi Smith (she has a great blog - please of go and visit her!)  Like me, Heidi loves fancy-fold and action cards and for her swap she made this sweet little origami pouch, which generated some comments when I showed the swaps I got on my YouTube channel.  So I had to find out how it was done, and it turned out to be pretty easy - here's how!
This size uses 6 x 6 inch paper, so it's perfect for using up the Pretty Petals DSP stack (still using up my retiring supplies!)

Hope you enjoyed the tutorial and I'll see you again soon!

Driftwood

Hello Bloggists - welcome to my blog.

It's another use-it-up project today, with Lost Lagoon ink and card leaving at the end of the mother, along with the World Traveller stamps, the striped cotton ribbon, the very vintage buttons and the antique brads...the Hardwood stamp is staying though (whew!) And if you look carefully there's a sneaky peek at something that's coming soon in the new catalogue.  Can you spot it?

Check out the video...
That's it for today - see you soon!

In a Twist

Hello Bloggists and thank you for visiting my blog.
I do so love cards that have something special and today's project is this twist/turn card.  I'm still using up my supplies and making the most of some of the tools that will be leaving us at the end of this month.  Here's the tutorial-

I cut my card down to the dimensions given in the pattern I used - 5 1/2 by 8 1/2 - which meant that I could get one card out of A4 card- but afterwards I realised that I could have got two out of a single piece if I'd cut it at 5 1/2 by 8 1/4.

Three Cheers for the Red, White & Blue!

Hello Bloggists, and welcome to my blog.

Monday was a public holiday here so I've had a nice long weekend away from the day job.   The OH and I went to the cinema to see Captain America- Civil War (which I really enjoyed, by the way!)  So guess where I got the inspiration for this -

This would be a good card for any superhero fan and it's a quick and easy one to make- here's how I made it -

I hope you liked it! - and I'll see you again soon
