Simply Sketched 20

Thank you for joining us for another Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge!

We’re so excited to be sharing this hop with you.  The products used are all available in the current Annual, or seasonal, Stampin’ Up!® Catalogues*.

Simply use the buttons at the bottom of the post to keep hopping.

This time we've been set a colour challenge by Hannah - here are the colours -

I made a card base out of Smoky Slate, picked out re-inkers in the remaining colours and some Glossy White card.  I sprayed the glossy card with water and dropped blogs of ink onto the surface while it was still wet and then - blew on the ink to move it around.  In my days as an Early Years teacher, we used to get the pupils to use drinking straws.  I used the air duster spray you get for cleaning computer components, which was much less like hard work.

Here's the result (embellished with a bit of ribbon and some heat embossing)

There's a YouTube video showing how I did it if you want to see it, visit my channel in a couple of days and it'll be there.  Don't do it now, though, because you really need to see what Hannah has made- click here to go to the
Or if you're the independent kind and and working your way through the hop from the other end, then visit Jillian at the

Do come back and join me again another day, won't you?

See you again soon,

Eastern Palace Magic Wallet

Hello and welcome to my blog.

It's kind of way-back Wednesday today.  I'm revisiting a Magic Wallet - something I first made over a year ago.  This time I sized it to fit a gift card and used products from the current catalogue.  Here's the front (or the back) -
Here's the inside -
And here's the back (or front)
This sort of gift card holder is lots of fun to play with and as long as you follow the steps carefully it's quite straightforward to make.

Versamark Resist

Hello bloggers and welcome.

Sometimes, I get excited about little things, like thglossy card in the new Stampin' Up! catalogue.  Yes, really, plain, white, shiny card.  Let me tell you why!

When I first started rubberstamping, I read everything I could get my hands on to learn  techniques and tricks and some of the techniques need a glossy card as your base.  I've been refreshing my memory of these techniques and I'm going to be showcasing them over the next few weeks.

One of the first techniques I tried when I began stamping was Versamark resist stamping. It creates a beautiful, subtle effect that's great for creating backgrounds - like in this card in shades of green.

It's very easy to do. Here's how–

So what do you think - are you going to try it? Let me know!

Tranquil Tulips Notecards & Box

Hello bloggists, and thank you for visiting today.

One of the Stampin'Up! products I make sure I always have handy are the Notecards.  You get 20, plus envelopes, in a package so they are very cost-effective.  They're ready cut to size - I like to use them for make and takes at workshops because they are quick and easy to decorate.  They come in Whisper White and in Very Vanilla (new this season).  Package up a few of them in a cute notecase and you've got a quick gift.

Tranquil Tulips is fast becoming one of my favourite sets.  It's one of the Host Rewards sets - which means you can only get it if your order value is more than £150 (and qualifies for free products to the value of 10% of your order)

This is a really Tranquil project because I used Tranquil Tide cardstock as well (I love the word tranquil...it sounds like what it means).  The DSP is from the Delightful Daisy stack.

Here's the video -
